Solve for u -5+3u = -11

OpenStudy (kimberly_pr):

I furthermore simplified it to 3u = -16 but idk where to go from there, because when dividing -16 by 3 I got -5.33333 but it has to be a fraction

OpenStudy (will.h):

you did the 1st step incorrectly that's why you got incorrect answer. the equation is -5 + 3u = -11 you need to get rid of -5 so you should (ADD it to both sides) 3u = -11 + 5

OpenStudy (kenrick143):

Nahhh.. Its wrong kim

OpenStudy (kimberly_pr):

OHHH, so the answer is -2 @Will.H thank you once again :)

OpenStudy (will.h):

Correct

OpenStudy (will.h):

You welcome :)
