Help please... Is the answer 6 and 2/5?

OpenStudy (gracygirl):

OpenStudy (kenrick143):

Yeah.. Do you know how to prove it?

OpenStudy (will.h):

incorrect Objection

OpenStudy (gracygirl):

Because 5 goes into 30 6 times....leaving 2/5 left over?

OpenStudy (will.h):

Your answer to the equation is incorrect the answer should be negative

OpenStudy (gracygirl):

?

OpenStudy (kenrick143):

Why negative?

OpenStudy (gracygirl):

^^

OpenStudy (gracygirl):

There's no room for a negative sign in the space they give me for my answer.

OpenStudy (will.h):

5(x - 4) = 12 use ditrubtive property 5x - 20 = 12 5x = 32 x = 32/5 or 6.4 my mistake wasn't negative but 6 and 2/5 is incorrect

OpenStudy (kenrick143):

Its still correct

OpenStudy (kenrick143):

6.4 into mixed fraction.

OpenStudy (will.h):

\[6\frac{ 2 }{ 5 }\] is equal to 2.4 and the answer (the correct one is 6.4 or 32/5)

OpenStudy (will.h):

Lol whatever put whatever answer you want

OpenStudy (gracygirl):

I turned the lesson in, 6 2/5 was the right answer. Thank guys.

OpenStudy (kenrick143):
