can anyone help me with this question what are the benefits and detriments of using fracking to recover natural gas? please help as soon as possible
Hello, So hydraulic fracturing of rock (fracking) forces a liquid solution at extremely high pressures into permeable, and gaseous rock. This allows petroleum engineers and oil companies access to "reserves" of gas that were previously deemed inaccessible due to technological restrictions. Some of the fallbacks result from the fact that you are having to force this water under extremely high pressure into the earth. There are inactive faults everywhere underneath the ground and water acts as a sort lubricant for these inactive faults (by definition do not more around) to begin to move again after hundreds or even thousands of years of inactivity. That is why Oklahoma, a reigon with relatively little seismic activity, has been experiencing a huge influx of seismic activity in the past few years. Hydraulic fracking has revived these inactive faults, and they are moving again causing earthquakes.
i wanted to say thanks sorry for not replying i got 100 o the project
