The molecular formula of glucose is C6H12O6. What would be the molecular formula for a polymer made by linking five glucose molecules together by dehydration reactions?

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

First glucose molecule loses 1 H the last molecule loses 1 OH. The 3 middle glucose molecules each lose 1 H2O. So Multiply the formula for glucose by 5 then subtract 4H2O.
