OpenStudy (needshelpdfdf):

need the sum and express it in simplest form (s^3-4s^2-4)+(-7s^3+7s^2)

OpenStudy (needshelpdfdf):

??

OpenStudy (radar):

You're in luck. All the terms involve the variable "s." Although the terms have varying coefficients and exponents, you are allowed to combine variables with the same exponent. The coefficients of those variables with the same exponent may be algebraically combiner.

OpenStudy (needshelpdfdf):

ok I don't understand

OpenStudy (radar):

For example their is an +1s^3 that is to be added to -7s^3........that simply results in a -6s^3. Just go down the line and take care of the remaining s^2 and the 4 is a piece of cake. Remember your rule for signs.

yea whatever thx
