Preetha knows she will have to give OS to Brainly, so she mass deletes accounts and when Brainly takes over, everyone thinks it was the work of Brainly that caused this inactivity on the site.

I can think of no other reason as to why OS would mass delete all those accounts.

That seems like a true thought. Since she deleted those inactive accounts, maybe cuz Brainly wanted to see how many users would be left..

And get rid of the thousands of accounts i made...

Also, Brainly took over OpenStudy and they made it public after a while. It's how it goes whenever any company takes over. They don't make it public right away.

Not every account they deleted was inactive, some people didn't fill out the form, you know.

Whenever any user searches up a question (without being logged in) they see a page that redirects them 10x more to Brainly than to OpenStudy, which thus causes OpenStudy to recieve less new users than Brainly.

I'm pretty sure that wouldn't make the users leave OS, but rather go on both sites. And the inactivity started after the mass account deletion.

Don't try to make it look like Brainly made everyone leave.

For one thing, there's the redirect that TSO brought up. Secondly, a lot of people were upset about Preetha's decision to leave the site, figured that meant that it was going to die pretty soon anyway, and then left. Third, there's peeranswer, which, while definitely not educational, is a lot more lax on rules than OS is, so its chat is preferable to OS's for a large amount of OS's users, who come here mainly for the chats anyway.

Preetha was inactive when she was still on OS, yet there were still plenty of users on the sight. There were also many users on the site when PA was created.
