OpenStudy (patrickweewoos):

Solve for X.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

this is a pentagon - the sum of the 5 internal angles is 540 degrees.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

So add up the 4 given angles and subtract the total from 540.

OpenStudy (patrickweewoos):

So what do I do with 540?

OpenStudy (leema35):

151 will be your answer

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum11):

its not 151

OpenStudy (patrickweewoos):

I got 389

OpenStudy (welshfella):

@ leema please dont give direct answers Read Code of Contact.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

x = 540 - (90 + 107 + 144 + 138)

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum11):

it would be -151

OpenStudy (patrickweewoos):

BTW the are only 3 numbers given and the 4th is an x

OpenStudy (welshfella):

No the square means the angle is 90 degrees

OpenStudy (welshfella):

|dw:1473963423604:dw|

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum11):

i think it would be 45

OpenStudy (welshfella):

nope

OpenStudy (patrickweewoos):

a bit wild but I got 258,660

OpenStudy (welshfella):

use your calculator to add the 4 angles

OpenStudy (welshfella):

lol!! thats is wild!!! No where near that!

OpenStudy (patrickweewoos):

479

OpenStudy (welshfella):

now all you need do is calculate 540 - 479

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum11):

61?

OpenStudy (patrickweewoos):

61

OpenStudy (welshfella):

yea x = 61 degrees

OpenStudy (patrickweewoos):

OMG THANK YOU @welshfella

OpenStudy (welshfella):

to calculate the total internal angles of a plygon of side n use the formula total angles = 180 (n - 2) so for a hexagon (6 sides 0 its 180 (6 - 2) = 180 * 4 = 720 degrees.
