OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

Which type of transformation best describes the image and pre-image? Translation, reflection, rotation

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

@Vocaloid @AloneS

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

@Will.H

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

your opinion about this ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

rotation can being ?

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

kind of looks like a translation

jabez177 (jabez177):

Eh, nope.

OpenStudy (will.h):

Translation is the only thing that you should never think about since the image is not in the same exact shape as the pre image

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

sorry meant reflection :)

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

no not is translation - numerate please these units between axe oy from the

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

yes i agree the reflection sure

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

but the only thing that i find odd is that it looks a little off

OpenStudy (will.h):

I don't believe it is a reflection either jhony because notice that it is more a rotation notice the point and the same points after changing

OpenStudy (will.h):

My logic says it is mostly a rotation

OpenStudy (will.h):

I could be wrong

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

rotation how exactly

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

it looks off by 2 points to be a reflection

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

definitely not a rotation... it would be in the same quadrant if it was a rotation

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

cause a rotation is the turn about an axis correct?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

yes about an axis but can being rotated about axe ox or about axe oy - how was this than kin this case ? so than you think it that is rotation ?

OpenStudy (will.h):

The point (5,1) changeD to (-7,1) lf we apply the reflection rules Across the x axis would turn it to (5,-1) Across the y axis would turn it to (-5,1) Across Y=x (1,5) See it never went to any reflection

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

than think that was rotation

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

i dont think its a rotation... and beside it says "best describes"

OpenStudy (will.h):

Well I'm not sure I just gave you my point of view and you decide. BTW let me know about the correct answer when u submit

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

ok... im submitting now

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

it was a reflection

OpenStudy (will.h):

Yaay congrats buddy

OpenStudy (will.h):

Good job jhony

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

ty

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

everyone gets a medal :)
