Could someone please help me with this problem? I'm having trouble understanding how to do it. Find f^-1 for the function

OpenStudy (jadareese_18):

OpenStudy (danjs):

Just this prob, or in general what to do?

OpenStudy (danjs):

\[\large y=f(x)=(x-2)^{1/3}+8\] change y and x around, solve for y to get the inverse f^-1 \[\large x = (y-2)^{1/3}+8\]

OpenStudy (danjs):

When you graph both, they should be a reflection of each other over the line y=x

OpenStudy (danjs):

(x - 8)^3 + 2 = y = f^-1(x)

satellite73 (satellite73):

a) subtract 8 b) cube both sides c) add 2
