Derivative of a log

OpenStudy (abbles):

What is the derivative of log base 5 of x^6 ?

OpenStudy (abbles):

Would it be ln(x^6)/ln5 ? or 1/(x^6)(ln5) ?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

first switch to base e? think you did that

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

so \(\dfrac{d}{dx} ( \log_5 (x^6)) = \dfrac{d}{dx} \left ( \dfrac{\ln (x^6)}{ \ln 5} \right)\) \(= \dfrac{d}{dx} \left ( \dfrac{6 \ln (x)}{ \ln 5} \right)\)

OpenStudy (abbles):

It was given as base e Ahh so I was right :D thanks. Mind checking one more?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

if that one's done, start a new thread

OpenStudy (abbles):

Okay, thanks for your help!
