OpenStudy (courtney233):

An oblique cylinder has a radius of 10 meters and a volume of 2,500 cubic meters. Use Cavalieri’s Principle to solve for the height of the solid A-5 meters B-25 meters C-50 meters D-250 meters

OpenStudy (courtney233):

@Google @ILovePuppiesLol

OpenStudy (welshfella):

thats a new one on me - Cavalieri's principle.

OpenStudy (courtney233):

I dont get it \

OpenStudy (welshfella):

the cross sections of this cylinder formed by any parallel plane will be equal to the cross sections of a right cylinder if they are between the same parallel planes

OpenStudy (welshfella):

cross section area will be pi * 10^2 = 100 pi so my guess is the height will be 2500 / 100 = 25 meters. Sorry but I cant be sure of this as Ive never come across this before - I just looked it up on google.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

- but i think perhaps the volume should be 2500 pi cubic meters
