Where do babies come from?
about 9 months, time of a human pregnancy, after a male sperm has fertilised a female ovum in the uterus/womb of a female human. The word "ovum" may refer to the shape, like an oval, whilst a sperm is similar in shape, if not in size to a tadpole - long tail and it uses the tail to travel from the female human vagina to the uterus and, if "lucky", be the one that fertilises the femal egg by penetrating it, releasing, possibly calcium and beginning the pregnancy. If lucky, because in many cases this process does not occur, and this is referred to as infertility. The medical field of human fertility is enormous, and worth a few billion dollars. http://perendis.webs.com

the fusion of male and female gametes i.e, the egg cell and sperm fuse together to form an embryo which grows under mother protection for 9 months and then the muture embryo i.e., the baby comes out of the vagina or birth canal
