OpenStudy (jahanvi2800):

Light reflected from a glass plate (ng = 1.65) immersed in ethyl alcohol (ne = 1.36) is found to be completely linearly polarized. At what angle will the partially polarized beam be transmitted into the plate?

OpenStudy (osprey):

I'm very very rusty on this, but it may have something to do with the BREWSTER ANGLE. Looking at the wording, does partially polarised mean elliptically polarised, as opposed to plane/linear polarised or circularly polarised ? Let me know how you get on, and if I get any ideas I'll let you know ... Bon chance http://perendis.webs.com
