A certain drug is made from only two ingredients: compound A and compound B. There are 5 milliliters of compound A used for every 8 milliliters of compound B. If a chemist uses 330 milliliters of compound A, how many milliliters of the drug will be made?

5 : 8 330: x solve for x, thats the amount of compound b used. add that to the amount of a used to get the total
we have a ratio of 5:8 330 * 8 / 5 which equals 528 528 + 330 = 858 in total
