1 hundred 8 hundredths + 2 ones 4 hundredths. How would I write this normally? 1.08 + 2.04 ?
what youve written in numbers is one and eight hundredths + 2 and four hundredths
welsh he did tell you in the question he said would it be 1.08 + 2.04
I suggest you use the word 'and' to avoid ambiguity
It's a math problem written in Eureka curriculum that I am trying to figure out what they mean. Do they mean I am adding 1.08 + 2.04 or what's up.
Yea I know but the written form was not very clear.
Yes i think they mean 1.08 + 2.04 but its badly written.
It is written like that in my ready made lesson plan.
''1 hundred eight hundredths' is a weird way of saying 1.08
It could mean 100.08 I suppose......
its confusing....
100.08 should be written as one hundred and 8 hundredths
Yes, it's a weird way of saying it. I have 1.3 tenths, and then this one. Since there isn't "and" I assumed they are meaning 1.08
The more I look at it the more im getting confused to be honest. I dont know...
13 tenths is 1.3
- beacuse 10 tenhs is 1.
Yes, what I am saying is this lesson plan phrases things different from what my students are used to. So, I am trying to make certain **I** Understand what it is trying to say before I toss this to kids.
i agree with elsh it is weird question and mysterious it is like meant to make you wrong and never get it right lol
lol yea
I would go for 100.08 + 2.04 = 102.12 for the first one
well i would go to my teacher and tell him to answer this lol
- that is one hundred and 8 hundredths + 2 and 4 hundredths
I am the teacher, lol. We have a new curriculum and they phrase things differently. i do not like how easily this can be confused.
i agree with you. though im pretty sure they mean 100.08 for the first one But an 'and' in the appropriate position would make it much more clear.
Thank you! Trying to get the hang of how they talk in these scripts. Just noticed this isn't discussed with the kids it's just there. ^_^
