Over a span of 6.0 seconds, a car changes its speed from 89 km/h to 37 km/h. What is its average acceleration in meters per second squared (m/s2)?

OpenStudy (sapphiremoon):

Acceleration is change in velocity over time. The velocity changes from 89 to 37, or -52 m/s. Divide that by the 6.0 seconds it took to do that, and you get -8.7 m/s^2. Does that help?

OpenStudy (rachelreynolds1234):

yes thank you very much
