What was the "Shot heard round the world?"
Red coats in Boston head to Concord on a supposed to be secret mission to seize guns reported to be stockpiled. Massachusetts militia members had been alerted the army was headed out. By sunrise, the Brits were at Lexington and were met by about 100 militia men. The militia was out numbered and fell back. Red coats proceed to Concord. They split into companies to search for the guns. The militia engages a company of about 100 Brits at North Bridge. It's unclear who fired first. But a scrimshaw ensued. Brits decide to head back to Boston. Militia pursues, using guerrilla tactics aganist the rows of marching soldiers. Not much in the way of battles. But a little colony struck an embarrassing blow to a superpower. That was the shot heard round the world
