How do I solve this? I'm working with pythagorean theorem

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

This is the question: How far up a wall will an 11 meter ladder reach, if the foot of the ladder must be 4 meters from the base of the wall? Round to the nearest hundredth. So I thought to solve this, I should use the pythagorean theorem: 4^2 + b^2 = 11^2 but now I'm confused how to solve for b.

OpenStudy (camogreen883):

Okay you would take 4^2 (16) and subtract it from 11^2 (121) . So 121 - 16 = ?
