Physics 18 Online
OpenStudy (sapphiremoon):

Calculate the range of a projectile with an initial speed of 16 m/s and a firing angle of 35 degrees. My teacher's explanation of projectile motion was a bit over my head, could someone walk me through this?

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

\(S_y=0=u_yt-\frac{1}{2}gt^2\) u_y=16 sin35 g=10 m/s^2 find t

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

Range=\(u_xt\) u_x=16cos35

OpenStudy (sapphiremoon):

What is Sy? My teacher didn't use S and u, can you explain what those are?

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

s_y is the net displacement along y-axis. u_x is the velocity vector along x-axis u_y is initial velocity along y-axis

OpenStudy (sapphiremoon):

Oh, okay. I'll see if I can figure it out now.
