OpenStudy (ziporah):

The set of ordered pairs described in the graph below can be described as which of the following? Select one: a. a relation only b. a function only c. both a relation and a function d. neither a relation nor a function

OpenStudy (ziporah):

OpenStudy (benji):

What do you think it is?

OpenStudy (will.h):

it cannot be a single function why? those are 2 linear functions so whatsoever option contain function can be eliminated n

OpenStudy (ziporah):

Both? because the vertical line test does not touch the lines at the same time but how do you tell if it is a relation?

OpenStudy (benji):

Usually it is either a relation or a function, because if it were a function it would already be a relation. So I think it is just "function".

OpenStudy (will.h):

it is not a function

OpenStudy (will.h):

if it was then at least defined what kind of function what type of function is that?

OpenStudy (ziporah):

It is both a function and a relation because we can see using the vertical line test the lines don't touch at the same time and it uses ordered pairs. So both a function and a relation
