2x + 7 > x + 17 solve
Get the same things on the same side
just like when you solve for an equation 1st step is to subtract x from both sides to get the X's on one side
Thats where I am confused, I dont see an = sign and i forget after that
the > is the same thing as an equal sign in this case
Lets see here
we don't need = sign because this is not equation this is inequality but treat the > as if it was equal sign
So do subtract x to the left side and subtract 7 to the right
\[x>10\]
Correct
Do you have any listed values for the exponents?
THANKS GUYS
2x + 7 > x + 17 Subtract x from both sides to get X's on one side 2x - x + 7 > 17 x + 7 > 17 now subtract 7 from both sides to isolate x x > 17 - 7 x > 10 make sense?
yw bye
Yes, I have one more question just so i can find out an easier way on myself, 9y -5 < 8y -2
Solve it and i will check your answer.
I want to say 1y -5 < 2 but i feel its wrong
it is not 2 it is -2 the sign are very important and you are right so far but just instead of 1y keep it as y
so it is y - 5 < -2 so far
Now get y by itself?
Correct how do we do that?
+5 on the right side which is 3 y < 3
Correct! :)
Awesome i got it right do oyu want to help with a few more? You dont have too i have 10 minutes of class left
sure but i would ask you to create new post
