OpenStudy (jesse02):

A motor boat is traveling east with a velocity of 7.3 meters/second. It experiences a current of 0.34 meters/second from the east. Find the resultant velocity of the boat and its direction.

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

Assuming direction of motor boat be positive velocity of motor boat =+7.3 m/s flow rate of current = -0.34 m/s net velocity of boat = (velocity of motor boat + flow rate of current) The sign of final result will give u the direction.
