NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

What is the Dot Structure for Li+1, S2-, N3-?

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

@ganeshie8 @Nnesha @Goldendragon01 @Gokuporter @whpalmer4 @jiteshmeghwal9 @kevin @skullpatrol @sweetburger @study.geek.123 @study00 @sammixboo @thefluffmuncher @Vuriffy @Victoriasushchik @hadeel @Helpmeeasetjx @helpppp

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

\(Li-1s^2 2s^1\) \(Li^+-1s^2\)

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

IS that a Dot Structure? I don't know how to read it that way yet.

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

U see that outermost shell electron of Li^+ are 2 in number. So place 2 dots around symbol of Li+

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

Okay, thanks.

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

Similarly do for other ions

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

Okay. But which side?

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

When you say, put it around the ion, which side do you mean? Does which side its on matter?

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

No it doesn't matter. U r free to put the dots around symbol of ion on any side

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

Thanks Jitesh!
