Did I get it correct? http://prntscr.com/cl1lat

OpenStudy (ebayminer126):

@TheSmartOne I need you to check my math. :)

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

a - (-b) = a + b NOT a - (-b) = a - b Another way to look at the question is We want to find the distance between -2.5 and 2.5 What is the distance between -2.5 and 0? What is the distance between 0 and 2.5? If you add that up, you'll get the same answer as 2.5 - (-2.5) :)

OpenStudy (ebayminer126):

So -2.5 - 0=0 and 0-2.5=0 So did I get it? Or should I add what I just put to my answer?

OpenStudy (ebayminer126):

@TheSmartOne

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

distance will always be positive how many units do you move to go from 2.5 to 0 and from o to -2.5 also note that -2.5 - 0 = -2.5 0 - 2.5 = -2.5 That 0 doesn't change anything. Only when you multiply a number by 0 will the product be 0
