Things sometimes express themselves subconsciously through other things and maybe its even how we come to our deepest of thoughts.

EMBRACE OF THE MEANT TO BE

The morning air crisp in its crystal
clear
Looking to the skies to find someone
pretty near

Only its the moon halfway peeping
from the round
As the grass becomes saturated with
cigarette ashes abound

And lo' the behold in these early hours
the squirrels so loud
cracking their little nuts while peering
fifty feet down.

It was in this moment of wakefulness
that I truly never awakened
Because the sweet air reminded me
that my life was never mistaken.

@Atsie it's gorgeous! I absolutely love it, though there's some places the word meanings aren't exactly accurate, if you're not the Grammar Police it's fine. :) *curbs the urges*

Thank you @SapphireMoon ^.^ And I usually try to be 50/50 with the grammar thing. I understand that it matters a lot on poetry, but I also understand that in order to speak what I want to speak, I can't be exactly that rigid about it.
Nevertheless though, feel free to point out any flaws you see. Grammar or not. It's why I post this stuff so I can get feedback and help myself improve as I am already trying to write a book.

@Atsie It's great that you're writing a book (I'm also trying, I'm more of a novelist than a poet, but also more of a starter than a finisher, lol). That line "as the grass becomes saturated with/ cigarette ashes abound" doesn't seem quite right to me. I see how it's important because of the rhyme scheme, but as a sentence it doesn't quite work.
