WHY IS IT NECESSARY TO CHANGE SOME RADICAL EXPRESSIONS INTO RATIONAL EXPONENTS AND HOW IS IT DONE?
OpenStudy (jonathan5824):
I said because you need to simplify but i dont think that is correct.
OpenStudy (natalief):
A rational exponent allows you to do calculation on topics e.g. law of indices in a more convenient way ;)

WHY DOES SOLVING RADICAL EQUATIONS NEED A DIFFERENT PROCESS? HOW DO EXTRANEOUS SOLUTIONS ARISE FROM RADICAL EQUATIONS?
OpenStudy (jonathan5824):
i said because you have to isolate the radical and see if the answer is true
OpenStudy (natalief):
An extraneous solution is a root of a transformed equation that is not a root of the original equation because it was excluded from the domain of the original equation.
