jabez177 (jabez177):

Solve for x.

jabez177 (jabez177):

\[-7\ge13-5x\]

jabez177 (jabez177):

How do we do this?

jabez177 (jabez177):

Divide by 5 on both sides, right?

OpenStudy (sissyedgar):

I'm learning this too..

jabez177 (jabez177):

Because I was solving it but kept coming out with the wrong answer...

OpenStudy (hyperlunatic):

ok what is the first step you can think of?

jabez177 (jabez177):

Divide -7 by 5 or do 13-5x

OpenStudy (hyperlunatic):

I would say it would be subtract 13 from each side because you want to isolate x .

jabez177 (jabez177):

\[-20\ge5x\]

OpenStudy (hyperlunatic):

yes im sorry but i am learning this too and that is all i know...

jabez177 (jabez177):

@Qwertty123

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

Okay so.. Step 1: Simplify both sides of the inequality. −7≥−5x+13

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

Then you would.. Flip the equation Like this... −5x+13≤−7

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

Then you have to Subtract 13 from both sides. −5x+13−13≤−7−13 −5x≤−20

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

Last step.. Divide both sides by -5... You will get your answer then..
