Which of the following describes a situation in which the total distance a basketball player travels is 0 meter from his starting point? The player runs 9 meters forward and then runs 0 meters in the opposite direction. The player runs 5 meters forward and then runs 6 meters in the opposite direction. The player runs 6 meters forward and then runs 5 meters in the opposite direction. The player runs 4 meters forward and then runs 4 meters in the opposite direction.

Not really total distance is the correct thing to say! if you go 4 meter to left and 4 meters to right from origin then you covered actually 8 meters in total. 0 distance traveled if you didn't move at all from the origin (frame of reference) I believe what they are asking you is the displacements or change in position
