(Only need help with C) One way to estimate the distance of a thunderstorm is to count the number of seconds that pass from the sight of a flash of lightning until thunder is heard. Divide this number by 5 to get the approximate distance (in miles) of the storm. a. Identify the independent and dependent variables. b. Suppose you can generally hear thunder up to 10 miles away. Identify an appropriate domain and range for this situation. c. Is the function discrete or continuous? Explain.
The function is technically f(x) = (x/5) which would be continuous as it goes to infinity (it doesn't converge). But in the context of (b.), since you can only hear up to 10 miles, which is a limit, then it'll be a discrete. Discrete function by definition is a function that is only defined for a set number of integers.
