How can you rewrite a product/pi notation into summation notation?

it sounds difficult. maybe write the two terms in the product as series, and go from there?

http://math.illinoisstate.edu/day/courses/old/305/contentsummationnotation.html @phi technically it's 'n' terms, but since I was using it in induction, I could apply some similar sigma properties to it I guess. Then I'd use substitution. k whatevs.
