OpenStudy (katytho):

Can someone explain to me how I would do this thank you http://i.imgur.com/7RV0fj4.png

OpenStudy (phi):

do you know if any of the choices are true (or false)?

OpenStudy (katytho):

I have no idea :l

OpenStudy (phi):

some are definitions, which means you should have memorized those. the main idea is the equation can be used to find (x,y) points that "solve the equation" these points lie on a straight line. does that help you figure out if the first choice is true or false ?

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

okay the graph of any equation passes through only those points which satisfies the equation. Like y=-2x+4 is satisfied by the point (0,4)

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

rearranging the equation do not alter the meaning of equation If u tke all the terms consisting of variables to left hand side it won't alter the meaning of equation

OpenStudy (katytho):

I'm still just completely lost

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

The graph of any equation do not passes through all the points in the coordinate plane

OpenStudy (phi):

do you know that the equation can be plotted as a line ?

OpenStudy (katytho):

Yes I do know that ^

OpenStudy (phi):

do you know how to find the "y value" if you are given the "x" value (and the equation) ?

OpenStudy (katytho):

nope

OpenStudy (katytho):

Can you tell me how

OpenStudy (phi):

for example if x = 0 and you have the equation y = -2x+4 which means y is -2 times x plus 4 or y= -2*x + 4 if you erase the x and write in 0 instead, what do you get ? any idea ?

OpenStudy (katytho):

Umm, I think I get it, but I'm still just lost, sorry I'm very bad at math
