OpenStudy (thread252):

help out pls? What should you multiply the 1st equation by to get the “x variables” to drop out / eliminate? 3x + 2y = - 26 4x – 5y = - 4

OpenStudy (thread252):

@phi @Nnesha pls help

OpenStudy (phi):

do "they" want a number? or are you just trying to solve this ?

OpenStudy (thread252):

trying to solve

OpenStudy (phi):

because you can solve by multiplying the top equation by -4/3 but that is a bit messy (who likes fractions??). A computer would do that, but people would find the "common multiple" of 3 and 4 (as if you were adding fractions with those denominators) any idea what the "common denominator" of 3 and 4 is ?

OpenStudy (thread252):

well Phi thanks for you help. i Have figued out with my friends help. thanks!
