Use the conditional statement to answer the question. If you live in San Diego, then you live in California. What is the converse of the statement?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

What are you finding the hypothesis or conclusion?

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

i think its "if you do not live in california than you dont live in san diego"

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

@563blackghost

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

@luckycoins888

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

._. wat

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

im trying to see if im right

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

on what?

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

on the question lol

563blackghost (563blackghost):

You would switch the conclusion to where the hypothesis is and the hypothesis would go where the conclusion is....

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Adding not would change it to Inverse statment

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

so is it :if you dont live in california , than you dont live in san diego

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

im confused on this one

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Not quite you see the conditional is.... `If p (hypothesis), then q (conclusion)` So you have identified the conclusion and by identifying the conclusion you know the hypothesis so lets look at the format of converse.... `If q (conclusion), then p (hypothesis)` This would mean we would simply switch places of the hypothesis and conclusion....

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

ok its A

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

is that correct?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Correct :)

563blackghost (563blackghost):

sorry im all over the place xD

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

thanks

563blackghost (563blackghost):
