Your first problem is correct :) Though your wrong about the second one... \(\huge{x^{2}=10}\) Since x is squared and we need to find x we would do the opposite...so we find the square root of 10 and the square root of x squared is canceled to only `x`. \(\huge{x=\sqrt{10}}\) Now we leave it at just that....though the sqrt of 10 can be a positive or negative...
