Can anyone give me the steps and techniques on: A. building a paper tower using two pieces of short bond paper B. making a super magnet using a copper wire, a nail, and a battery (9 volts) Thank you.

OpenStudy (osprey):

B) If the copper wire is varnished - insulated - then, wind it round the iron/magnetic/ferromagnetic nail, scrape off some insulation at the ends of the wire, and connect it to the battery. The windings are a coil, and the nail "increases" the magnetic effect which happens when a current flows through the coil. Bon voyage http://perendis.webs.com

OpenStudy (osprey):

A) I don't know what "short bond paper" is. So, what is it ?

OpenStudy (hoot_hoot):

Thanks. Short bond paper measures 8.5" x 11" or letter size paper.

OpenStudy (osprey):

Well, why not roll them up, and stick one inside the other, a bit like you would with a telescope ? Glue the outside one so that it doesn't unravel, and pull the inside one up as long as the "tower" is stable - doesn't fall over. Does that help ? (I don't understand the question, so I'm guessing)

OpenStudy (osprey):

and hoot hoot to you
