OpenStudy (agent0smith):

This is a binomial probability. Use the formula for binomial probability. Probability of red is 0.4 total is 15 you want 6 reds

OpenStudy (study.geek.123):

That's what i thought, but that's not one of the choices

OpenStudy (welshfella):

what formula did you use?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

P(k successes in n trials) = nCk p^k n^(q-k) where p = probability of a success( in this case its picking a red) and q = probiliaty of NOt red

OpenStudy (welshfella):

sorry theres a mistake the formula should be nCk p^k q^(n-k)

OpenStudy (welshfella):

so plugging in the values>- P = 15C6 * 0.4^6 * 0.6^(15-6)
