OpenStudy (gudetamas):

George is walking east on a creek bank in the opposite direction of the current, which is flowing at 4.4 m/s. What velocity relative to the ground must George walk in order to stay even with Selena who is in a motorboat traveling upstream (east) at a velocity of 9.3 m/s relative to the water?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

work out what the boat's speed is relative to the ground. This will be George's speed relative to the ground.

OpenStudy (gudetamas):

do i add 4.4 and 9.3 together?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

yes

OpenStudy (gudetamas):

OpenStudy (welshfella):
