Using the diagram below, calculate the length of
@Jaynator495 @mathstudent55 @Shadow_helper @sweetburger
Radius PD is perpendicular to chord AB. What happens if a diameter or a radius is perpendicular to a chord?
it bisects the chord and its arc
Triangle BDP is a right triangle. Have you considered using the Pythagorean Theorem to find the length of the hypotenuse/radius BP? Note: we have to assume that point P is the center of this circle to use this method.
what mean that the point D is the midpoint of chord AB ?
so than how many is the length of BD ?
@mathmale, what is the Pythagorean Theorem? I would like you to help me with this!
a human calc need to know the pythagora"s theorem
lol
If you have a RIGHT triangle, with sides a and b and hypotenuse c, then the following relationship is true: a^2 + b^2 = c^2. That's the Pythagorean Theorem.
@jhonyy9, all the 50 medals I got for math is from helping 1st graders lol
Look at the triangle illustrated. Can you obtain from this picture the lengths of the 2 shorter sides of the triangle?
ok. sorry
Please focus on this math and save the joking for later.
yeah
what triangle @mathmale? You mean BDP? @Kainui, it would be nice to see you here too.
Sorry, Nvid: I do not want to have to call for your attention again and again. Perhaps someone else could help you.
@Kainui can you help me here?
What can I say that @mathmale can't? I have nothing particularly insightful to say here
