OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

A model rocket is shot straight up in the air. The quadratic function h(t) = −16t^2 + 96t models the height of the rocket above the ground after t seconds. How long does it take for the rocket to return to the ground? 16 seconds 6 seconds 12 seconds 8 seconds

OpenStudy (will.h):

Again finding the zeros -16t^2 +96t i found it to be (0,0) (6,0) i am sure you know how to find them you just wanted to make sure

OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

Thank you so much!

OpenStudy (mww):

yes as mentioned before the ground is mapped by y = 0 So you solve for 0 and the solutions (providing they make sense) indicates the times you rocket is on the ground (first for lift off, second for fall).

OpenStudy (will.h):

you welcome
