Does the shape seem to have rotated or reflected?

OpenStudy (milo123):

it seems to rotate to me

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Not quite. If you placed these two images by each other you would see that they are mirror-images which can only be done by reflecting so the shape reflected.... So we can cross out A and B....

563blackghost (563blackghost):

I meant A and C

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Now we need to determine across which axis it had reflected across.... Now if it reflects across the x-axis then it would land in Quadrent 2 and would have a translation of 6 units donw... If it reflected across the y-axis it would reflect upon Quadrent 4 and had 6 unit translation up.... Would it be B or D?

OpenStudy (milo123):

oh ok i see...i've never done this before lol

OpenStudy (milo123):

d?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

takes quite a bit of studying to get ;)

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Not quite. You see if we reflect across the x-axis (horizontal line) we would end up in Quadrent 2 and then we would translate 6 units down which would place it once again in Quadrent 3 so it would not be D.... Now if we reflect across the y-axis (vertical line) it would reflect upon the 4th Quadrent in which we would translate up 6 units in which it would land perfectly upon the second image...

OpenStudy (milo123):

ohhhh its d :)
