Gilman suffered from depression for three years (1884-
1887). In 1887, she went to a highly respected doctor with the hope that he could help her. He basically told her that nothing was wrong with her, and he prescribed the rest cure (Gilman).

It seems to be A to me, because Its almost like someone is just shortening something, or rephrased it a bit. (Just like summarizing, but only stating a bit of what another person said, or placing it in their own words.) So It seems to be more so of B. Hope I helped.
