This is a larger question so I'm gonna screenshot the question and answers if anyone wants to help! :D

OpenStudy (ltrout):

Do you have any idea currently? Basically it's asking what is being done in each problem.

OpenStudy (jamaljunior):

no. i hate this

OpenStudy (jamaljunior):

i think this one is actually C because it multiplies 3(2 + 6x) 3x2 and 3x6

OpenStudy (ltrout):

Alright no problem. I'll start you off. The first problem is the given problem we can assume since all answers start with given. Now, what do we do to get to the second sequence? Well, that's distributive property. Can you tell me what comes next?

OpenStudy (ltrout):

Distributive property is multiplying a single term by multiple terms enclosed in parenthesis.

OpenStudy (jamaljunior):

oh

OpenStudy (jamaljunior):

so c. is immediately out yes?

OpenStudy (jamaljunior):

process of elimination.

OpenStudy (ltrout):

Correct!

OpenStudy (jamaljunior):

kk

OpenStudy (ltrout):

Now what happens to get to the third sequence?

OpenStudy (jamaljunior):

combine like terms

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

C is definitely out. If you knew the distributions then definitely you'd know off the bat..

OpenStudy (ltrout):

Correct. And since a and b are the only ones left we need to further. What about getting to the 4th sequence?

OpenStudy (ltrout):

Notice how we got rid of 2z on the left side.

OpenStudy (jamaljunior):

addition?

OpenStudy (jamaljunior):

+6 to both sides?

OpenStudy (ltrout):

Not quite. We got rid of a positize 2z on the left side. Which would be subtraction.

OpenStudy (jamaljunior):

oh

OpenStudy (ltrout):

We did -2z first to get the the fourth and then we did +6 (addition property) to get to the 5th.

OpenStudy (jamaljunior):

so it's A.)

OpenStudy (ltrout):

Yep! Good job! :)

OpenStudy (jamaljunior):

can we do 1 more?

OpenStudy (ltrout):

Sure post it as a new question
