Mr. Jones typed for 10 minutes at a constant rate of 40 words per minute. Mrs. Gonzales typed the same number of words at a constant rate of 50 words per minute. How many minutes did it take Mrs. Gonzales to type the same amount as Mr. Jones? Number the steps in correct order from 1-5 to solve the problem. ____ Set Up: 10(40) = x ∙ 50 ____ Identify: Mrs. Gonzales’ time is unknown ____ Check: 10(40) = 8(50) ____ Solve: x = 8 ____ Strategize: Let x = Mrs. Gonzales’ time

So you just have to put the steps in order?

OpenStudy (narissa):

yes please help Im soo behind and have to get caught up tioday

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Boy I dunno. A lot of these steps you can do at the same time... hmm You need to `identify` your unknowns before you `label them` or `strategize`. Then after that, `set up` the equation and `solve it`. Then as a final step `check your work`.

ok its hard
