MP3 --> 35 dollars profit per piece which means 35x
DVD player --> 18 dollars profit for each piece which means 18y
and the total profit is 141 dollars 

to get the total profit we must get the sum of the MP3 and DVD
so therefor the expression would be 

35x + 18y = 141
