@Kevin

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

OpenStudy (ben00):

I don't know.

OpenStudy (kevin):

still same

OpenStudy (ben00):

What grades are you guys in? I am grade 8.

OpenStudy (kevin):

I'm a college student :)

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

42sqrt - 21sqrt = Is that how you do this?

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @NvidiaIntely 42sqrt(6) - 21sqrt(4) = Is that how you do this? \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\)

OpenStudy (kevin):

no

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

How then, sorry.

OpenStudy (kevin):

sin = opponent / hypotenuse sin 42 = ?

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

How do I find the hypotenuse number?

OpenStudy (ben00):

Can you give me a medal? :)

OpenStudy (kevin):

hypotenuse = side in front of 90 degree opponent = side in front of asked angle Adjacent = side beside of asked angle

OpenStudy (kevin):

hypotenuse = AC opponent = BC adjacent = AB

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

yeah

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

So now back to the question. So when you said "sin = opponent / hypotenuse", did you mean sin = \[opponent \div hypotenuse\] or fraction?

OpenStudy (will.h):

The same

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

ok

OpenStudy (kevin):

Hi Will, pls switch me I'm gonna go dinner. bye

OpenStudy (will.h):

okay enjoy dinner

OpenStudy (will.h):

so Sin 42 = opposite/hyp what is the opposite sides and what is the hypotenuse values

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

opposite sides are AB and BC.

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

hypotenuse = 21

OpenStudy (will.h):

BC is right that's the only opposite side so make the substitution in the expression Sin 42 = opposite/hyp to make it as equation

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

yeah, okay.

OpenStudy (will.h):

we want to find the opposite side (a) so that would be the unknown and the hyp is known so substitute in the original expression

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

okay

OpenStudy (will.h):

tag me if you need additional help

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

@Will.H

OpenStudy (will.h):

pretty quick

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

lol

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

Okay so this is the equation that would get answer Sin 42 = opposite/21, right?

OpenStudy (will.h):

so we have Sin 42 = opposite/hypotenuse The value of the opposite is a the value of the hypotenuse is 21 so we have \[\frac{ Sin 42 }{ 1 } = \frac{ a }{ 21 }\] Cross multiply

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

ok

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

My teacher never taught me about trig formulas.

OpenStudy (will.h):

and yet he gives assessments!?

OpenStudy (will.h):

anyway Cross multiply!

OpenStudy (will.h):

i'll do it and you can review it and learn from it \[\frac{ Sin42 }{ 1 } = \frac{ a }{ 21 }\] Cross multiply \[a = \sin42 * 21\] \[a = 14.052\]

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

I don't want to use trig because I did not learn that yet, so if my teacher sees it she'll know that I am on OpenStudy, and she does not like that :/

OpenStudy (will.h):

right but trig is the only way to solve it! unless you have 2 sides known in a right triangle you can't do anything but to use trig

OpenStudy (will.h):

Do you know the song Mercy- Shawn Mended?

OpenStudy (will.h):

Send it to your teacher while showing ur work Lol

OpenStudy (kevin):

your teacher know open study :o

OpenStudy (will.h):

pretty sure all USA and Canada known OpenStudy

OpenStudy (kevin):

Owhh....

OpenStudy (will.h):

75% of the homeworks are here lol

OpenStudy (kevin):

my country not at all xD

OpenStudy (will.h):

where you from?

OpenStudy (kevin):

Indonesia

OpenStudy (kevin):

Asian country

OpenStudy (will.h):

Wow how did you know about OS!

OpenStudy (kevin):

I was searching brainly alternative. After tried one by one, then I found the cool one, that was Open Study

OpenStudy (will.h):

Oh i see That's nice it is a cool community

OpenStudy (will.h):

Good to see you here. Anyway we are spamming this question i hope the answers are sufficient NV C ya guys

OpenStudy (kevin):

yeah... so cool xD

OpenStudy (kevin):

lol.. ok will

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

well I never learned trig! And I am not allowed to use something other than school work to solve problems. There must be another way to do this Kevin.

OpenStudy (kevin):

Yeah... That's it

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

What's what?

OpenStudy (kevin):

I don't know the other way without using trigonometry :/ You know, although you're not allowed using trigonometry, you may allowed using pattern formula right?

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

So what's pattern formula Kevin?

OpenStudy (kevin):

sin 42 = a/21

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

is that not trig?

OpenStudy (kevin):

Actually it's trigonometry, Idk the other way how to solve this

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

awwww... :/

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

@cuanchi @JFraser @Unavailabilityy can you help me?

OpenStudy (kevin):

@jiteshmeghwal9 This one is very difficult. pls help us

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

He is offline :)

OpenStudy (kevin):

I know :)
