Simplify by dividing negative three over eight divided by five over nine..
alright let's first write this out
\[(-\frac{ 3 }{ 8 } )\div \frac{ 5 }{ 9 }\]
I like to write it like this \[\frac{ \frac{ -3 }{ 8 } }{ \frac{ 5 }{ 9 } }\]
okie!
so whenever you divide fractions
you keep the first fraction as it is. then you switch the sign from division to multiplication and then you flip the second fraction.
k
Now it becomes this: \[\frac{ -3 }{ 8 } • \frac{ 9}{ 5 }\]
follow?
@zhana_Gibson hey do you know how to post a question? so you see where it says "ask a question" type it into that box and then post it.
you'll see an option that says post. but it's right below the "powered by brainly" sign
ugh Someone help! @mathmale @mathmate
yeah so what's your point of confusion @Lowkey.S
@zhana_Gibson Stop it Im getting confused
Please ask your own question
@Lowkey.S She does not yet know how to open a question. I opened up a separate one
okay so what do I do for the step..
multiply across
You don't need to keep giving me tagging me lol
multiply the numerators together then the denominators.
okay wait give me a sec
Now I dont know what im doing
5/24? huh?
You have the following problem:\[(-\frac{ 3 }{ 8 } )\div \frac{ 5 }{ 9 }\] Tiy are dividing -3/8 by 5/9. To divide by a fraction, invert (turn upside down) that fraction. Multiply the result. Show your work if you want feedback on it...your work, not just your answer.
okay!
What do you need to know? I don't want to repeat my instructions.
i know
I know its -27/40 So,I got that from -3/8 divided by 5/9 and inverse it -3/8 divided by 9/5 so 27/40 and there is a negative so -27/40 @mathmale
sorry for taking so long my mom said to do something
Please close this question.
Why?
Because this question is done.
I'm not done lol... he hasn't answer it yet
oh
-27/40 is fine. What are you waiting for? Please move on, unless y ou have further questions about this problem.
okay Thank you lol I have no more question
