"The writing of the Constitution of 1787 was the single most important political event in the history of the United States." Please give a brief reaction to this statement.

I disagree. The constitution was fought against by many groups. Despite the Federalist Papers arguments for the Constitution, there were people who hated it so much they wrote the Anti-Federalist papers AGAINST it. Personally I believe the most important event would be the writing/signing of the Declaration of Independence declaring the US's separation from England.
