OpenStudy (sophtlam):

carpal tunnel syndrome sensitivity is 0.67, specificity is 0.58.. in a population in which prevalence of carpal tunnel syndrome is 15% what is the predictive value of a positive test result?

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Hint: If 100 patients known to have a disease were tested, and 43 test positive, then the test has 43% sensitivity. If 100 with no disease are tested and 96 return a negative result, then the test has 96% specificity. (ref: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sensitivity_and_specificity)

OpenStudy (sophtlam):

Im not getting what you're trying to say. Sensitivity and specificity are both given, i can find false positives and false negatives with that. Not sure what to do with the 15% prevalence
