OpenStudy (braydonlevi99):

I need help..

OpenStudy (braydonlevi99):

\[Suppose f(x) = 2x-5 and g(x) = \left| -3x-1 \right|\]

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Suppose \(f(x)=2x-5\) and \(g(x)=|-3x-1|\).

OpenStudy (braydonlevi99):

Find each value: \[f(1) + g(2)\]

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

In order to find \(f(1)\), plug in \(x=1\) into \(f(x)\). In order to find \(g(2)\), plug in \(x=2\) into \(g(x)\). Then, add them.

OpenStudy (braydonlevi99):

So \[f(1) = 2(1)-5 + g(2) = \left| -3(2)-1 \right|\]

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Yes, \(f(\color{red}{1})=2(\color{red}{1})-5=2-5=-3\) \(g(\color{red}{2})=|-3(\color{red}{2})-1|=|-6-1|=|-7|=7\)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

\(f(1)+g(2)=\) ...

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I think you got the rest , bye:)

OpenStudy (braydonlevi99):

Please explain.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I just did, didn't I ?

OpenStudy (braydonlevi99):

Nevermind.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I showed you how to find f(1) and g(2) ... what remains to you, is to add ... good, nvm:)

OpenStudy (braydonlevi99):

So, the answer is 5?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

\(f(1)+g(2)=-3+7=~~{\bf ?}\)

OpenStudy (braydonlevi99):

4
