Geometry 15 Online
OpenStudy (chpatterson):

Based on the markings in the diagram, which conclusion must be true? A) AC = AP B) AC = BC C) ΔABC is scalene D) ΔABC is equilateral

OpenStudy (will.h):

i love eliminating options based on logic option B is rubbish because they cannot be equal to each other and we don't have coordinates to use distence formula to see if they equal or not so it just make no sense

OpenStudy (will.h):

Option C is also rubbish because they are quite the opposite there are common side which is CP so...

OpenStudy (will.h):

sorry for the 1st comment of mine i meant option A to be eliminated

OpenStudy (will.h):

So it has to be B or D thoughts?

OpenStudy (chpatterson):

HINT: line CP is the perpendicular bisector of segment AB

OpenStudy (will.h):

which divide it to equal sides so i take it as the triangles are congruent by the SAS yet i cannot determine A or D because if it was A then D is also right

OpenStudy (will.h):

i mean B not A

OpenStudy (will.h):

if B is right then D is also right!

OpenStudy (will.h):

Can't determine ! but i would choose B Gotta go consult another guy am not quite certain bye

OpenStudy (chpatterson):

ok thanks

OpenStudy (chpatterson):

correct thanks

OpenStudy (chpatterson):

it was correct
